Councils mostly no longer provide these services in house or have qualified staff to perform these functions. This work can involve not only building certification of new work, but regulatory functions such as compliance advice to the public and enforcement work.

Clients will seek out Baker Building Certification to obtain a building approval for their project as set down in legislation. This process involves clients submitting documentation, which may consist of drawings or plans to our building certifiers which is assessed for compliance against the legislation, as well as Planning Schemes.

Baker Building Certification must refer these applications to other government bodies (referral agencies) such as the Queensland Fire Department and local government. Baker Building Certification then issue the building approval and provide copies to the owner, applicant, referral agencies and affiliated councils. During construction our team conduct certain mandatory inspections depending on the project. At the end of each project we conduct a final stage inspection, and issue final documentation to complete the process.
